We accept clean, serviceable saddles, bridles, girths, stirrups, schooling and competition wear, rugs (washed and re-proofed), riding boots, hats (within current safety standards), body protectors (in date), grooming kit and stable equipment. We do not take items with structural damage or out-of-date safety gear.

Most well-priced items sell within 2–6 weeks. Premium saddles and brand-name pieces (Devoucoux, Equiline, Pikeur) often sell within days. We'll review pricing with you if an item is slow to move.

How does ECI grade second-hand horse tack?

Accepted Answer

Every item is hand-checked in person and assigned a condition grade from A to C, with honest defect notes and detailed photos on the listing. Nothing is sent out without a full condition check.

What do Grade A, B and C mean?

Grade A is like-new with minimal signs of use. Grade B is gently used with light cosmetic wear but fully functional. Grade C is well-used but completely serviceable — perfect for schooling, hacking or a yard spare.

Are measurements accurate for second-hand riding gear?

Yes. Every listing includes physical measurements (chest, length, drop, seat size, gullet width) in addition to the label size, because used and vintage equestrian gear varies significantly between brands and eras.

How do I measure a saddle for seat size?

Accepted Answer

Measure in a straight line from the centre of the saddle nail (the metal stud on the pommel) to the centre of the cantle. A 17.5" saddle, for example, measures 17.5 inches between those two points. Every saddle we list includes this measurement plus gullet width and flap length.

How do I know what size riding boots to buy second-hand?

Riding boot sizing varies by brand. We list UK size, calf width and boot height in centimetres on every listing. If you're between sizes, message us — we'll measure the exact pair you're looking at before you commit.

Secure card payment via Stripe, plus PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay at checkout. Bank transfer can be arranged for higher-value saddles or bridles by request.

Yes — we deliver nationwide across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland via tracked courier. Collection from Gorey, Co. Wexford is also welcome by arrangement.

Standard tracked delivery is a flat rate within Ireland, with free delivery on orders over a set threshold (see checkout). Most orders dispatch within 2 working days and arrive within 3–5 working days. UK shipping is available by quote.

Because every item is uniquely listed with honest grading and defect notes, all sales are final. If an item is materially not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we'll make it right — refund, partial refund or exchange.

How do I clean second-hand leather tack when it arrives?

Accepted Answer

Wipe down with a damp cloth, allow to dry, then apply a quality leather soap (Belvoir, Carr & Day & Martin) followed by a light conditioner. Avoid soaking leather or using household cleaners. Most of our leather pieces are already cleaned and conditioned before despatch.

How do I know if an item is still available?

If the listing shows 'Available', it's in stock and ready to ship. Sold items remain on the shop grid greyed out so you can see what's recently moved and judge how quickly stock turns over.

Yes — short holds (24–48 hours) are possible by WhatsApp request on 07816 450550. Longer reservations require a small refundable deposit so we're not turning other buyers away.
